NORTH ALLEGHENY FALL SPORTS PREVIEW 73
 PREVIEW
  GIRL’S
 VOLLEYBALL
The dynasty rolled on for the North Allegheny girls’ volleyball team with a sixth straight state championship in 2022.
The Lady Tigers had five all-state players a year ago and all have graduated. Mia Tuman was a two-time PA Gatorade Player of the Year and is now at Ohio State. Some players that head coach Russ Hoburg is expecting
to step into a leadership role this season are Rylee Gadomski, Jamie Frisco, Elysia Smith, Marin Dunaway and Kyra Schmidt. Schmidt
was hampered by injury last season but was a contributor to NA’s run to a state title as a sophomore.
Juniors Ariana Schiller and Julie Butler will both hold down in the middle of the net for North Allegheny. Each saw limited minutes last season and are likely to take a step forward in 2023. Jordan Frisco, Caileigh Duffy and Avery Butcher are defensive specialists that coach Hoburg considers to be three of the best in the state.
Some younger players that could be in the mix this season are Mack- enzie Jones, Macey Casten, Bridgit Murphy and Keely McMahon-Rea- gan.
The Tigers look to lean on their state championship experience in the season ahead.
