NORTH ALLEGHENY FALL SPORTS PREVIEW 71
PREVIEW
GIRL’S
SOCCER
The North Allegh- eny girls’ soccer team won their third WPI- AL Championship in four seasons in 2022. The Tigers finished with a 21-2 overall record and made another deep run into the state playoffs.
* WPIAL conference game
The Lady Tigers lost five players from their 2022 championship team, including two-time
All-American Lucia Wells, who is now at the University of Pittsburgh. There is still Division I talent on the roster though as Abigail Stager (Kentucky commit) and Ally Ruiz (High Point commit) will headline the 2023 roster.
Sam Braden, Natalie Figura and Abby Lang will be other seniors that should step into leadership roles for the 2023 season. Senior Jadyn Coy returns as well. Coy played a pivotal role in NA’s run to a title
last season, netting the game-winning goal in the WPIAL Class 4A semifinals against Seneca Valley. The Tigers will boast strength up the middle with both center backs returning along with senior goalkeeper Natalie Rak.
Rowan Barsotti and Kanak Agarwal are players to watch this season. Barsotti was limited due to injuries last year and Agarwal has the talent to contribute with more minutes in 2023.
