TRAINER
 After posting the first 46-win season in program history, DBU compiled a 44-19 record in 2016 and captured their first-ever Missouri Valley Conference regular- season title. The Patriots also won the MVC Tournament for the second time in a three-year span. After slugging their way to the championship game, DBU walked it off against Missouri State when a 12th inning wild pitch scored Trooper Reynolds from third base.
The Patriots’ run through the regular-season secured them the #2 seed in the Lubbock Regional. DBU dropped the opening game in Lubbock to New Mexico,
Two-way standout Darick Hall earned All- Colin Poche went 9-1 with a 2.38 ERA to garner All- American honors after hitting 20 home runs American honors in 2016.
