TRAINER
 2017 marked the Patriots’ fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament. DBU posted a 42-21 record for the season, claiming their second straight MVC Tournament title by beating Illinois State, 10-6. The championship earned DBU the #3 seed in the Fort Worth Regional, where once again the Patriots would reach the regional championship.
After dropping the first game to second-seeded Virginia, DBU rallied to knock off Central Connecticut State and Virginia in the rematch. Despite the momentum,
Austin Listi became the program’s all-time Seth Elledge set a new career saves record at DBU with home run king and also set a single-season 27 saves over a three-year span.
