Miss, but then routed Oral Roberts and the Golden Eagles in the rematch to earn a date with the Razorbacks. After jumping out to a 2-0 lead through the first two innings, the eventual national runners-up in Arkansas rallied for a 4-3 win over the Patriots.
In one of the most memorable individual seasons in DBU Baseball history, Devlin Granberg was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Fayetteville Regional. In a year that saw Granberg rewrite the Patriot record books, Granberg was tabbed MVC Player of the Year and was recognized as a First Team All-American by five publications after setting new school records for batting average (.443), hits (112), and on-base percentage (.541).
First-year shortstop Jimmy Glowenke also compiled one of the most decorated freshman campaigns in school history, earning Freshman All-American honors and was selected as the MVC’s Defensive Player of the Year.
On draft day, the Patriots once again were amongst the nation’s leaders. Seven Patriots heard their names called in the MLB First Year Player Draft, headlined by outfielder Jameson Hannah, who became the second highest draft pick in program history, going in the second round (50th overall) to the Oakland Athletics. Devlin Granberg went in the sixth round to the Boston Red Sox and Matt Duce rounded out the Patriots picked inside the first ten round by going to the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth round.
  Jimmy Glowenke was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year after making just five errors in 239 chances as a freshman.
