The Patriots entered the 2021 season ranked No. 24 in the nation and picked as the preseason favorites to win the Missouri Valley Conference title. In a year that saw the Patriots surge in late April with a key series win at home over then-ranked No. 19 Indiana State, DBU eventually clinched the MVC title on the final week of the regular-season at Southern Illinois.

Overall Record: 41-18
Patriots become the only team in the nation to win 40 or more games each of the last seven years.
Blayne Jones was named the National Player of the Week after hitting .400 with 3 home runs & 8 RBI on Opening Weekend vs. Austin Peay.
Dominic Hamel was tabbed the National Pitcher of the Week after throwing 6.0 scoreless innings & striking out 13 batters against Missouri.
Hamel set the school’s single-season strikeout record with 136 strikeouts and also set the single-season record for wins with 13.
Kragen Kechely established the program’s career record for appearances with 100 from 2017-2021. Dan Heefner reached 500 career wins after a 6-1 victory over Valparaiso on April 1.
DBU posted five walk-off wins in their final at-bat during the 2021 season.
