2022 WPISL Finalists
After winning the WPISL Championship in 2020 and making it to the league semifinals a year ago, it was another deep playoff run for the North Allegheny slow-pitch softball team in 2022. The Tigers reached the WPISL Championship game for the second time in three years and earned a runner-up finish.
The Tigers got off to a strong 7-3 start in the first 10 games of the sea- son. However, NA started playing its best softball at the perfect time as they rolled into the WPISL playoffs on a five-game winning streak.
North Allegheny handled Bethel Park, 24-9, in six innings in the WPISL quarterfinals, defeated Montour, 11-6, in the semifinals before falling to Shaler in the WPISL Championship, 12-7.
Head coach Dave Metzger’s team finished with a 13-4 overall record on the season and posted a memorable 2022.
