2022 WPIAL Champions • 2022 PIAA Quarterfinalists
It was another championship season for the North Allegheny girls’ soccer team in 2022, capturing a third WPIAL crown in four seasons. The Tigers seized WPIAL gold in dramatic fashion with a thrilling 2-1 win in penalty kicks in the WPIAL championship game.
North Allegheny’s defense was a focal point on the season as they posted 10 shutouts during the regular season. Offensively, senior Lucia Wells achieved All-American status and scored a team-high 30 goals. She finished her career at NA with 80 markers and graduates as the program’s all-time leading scorer.
The WPIAL playoffs saw the Lady Tigers win three one-goal games defeating Bethel Park, Seneca Valley and Peters Township along the way.
North Allegheny earned an impressive 3-1 win over Warwick in the first round of the state tournament before falling 2-1 to Central Dau- phin in the state quarterfinals.
