WPIAL Runner-Up
Even with a lot of new faces, the 2024 North Allegheny football team found themselves in the WPIAL Championship game for the 3rd straight season. After winning back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023, the Tigers fell to Central Catholic in the title tilt, ending their season at 10-2.
North Allegheny jumped out of the gates starting 5-0 with close wins over St. Frances Academy Regional (MD) and Penn Hills while dominating Gateway, Hempfield and Norwin. The Tigers were tripped up in the middle of the season by Central Catholic falling 27-14.
NA would return to their winning ways winning the next 5 games including an impressive non-con- ference come from behind victory against the even- tual WPIAL 5A Champions, Pine-Richland.
After a close regular season matchup, North Allegheny took care of Mt. Lebanon in the WPIAL Semifinals before once again falling to Central Catholic in the WPIAL Championship.
Individually, 13 players made the Big 56 All-Con- ference team and Jack Yatchenko was named a finalist for the Bill Fralic Memorial Award (Best offensive lineman in the WPIAL).
