 GIRL’S
TENNIS
For the 12th straight season, the Heritage girls tennis program was untouched in Bay Valley Athletic League play, extending their dual match win streak against league opponents to 120 matches, wrapping up another unbeaten league season in the process.
In addition to the success during the dual match portion of the schedule, the Patriots saw great success at the BVAL Tournament. Junior Chanelle Nau dominated the league tournament, winning the singles title for the second straight season and claiming league MVP honors. Sophomore Caroline Jin and junior Katti Wallace also earned all-league honors in the singles bracket, after both reached the
semifinals. Heritage also experienced success in the doubles bracket, as the team of seniors Anna Tsvetkov and Gianna Gordon-Franey reached the championship match, while Camryn Huston and Koko Sherman won the third place match after reaching the semifinals.
Tsvetkov and Gordon-Franey added another layer to their success for the season, as they won their opening match at the NCS Division 1 Doubles Championships, 7-6 (7-5), 6-0. Their victory marked the second time in the last three seasons that a Heritage doubles team advanced to the section quarterfinals.
