GOLF
Senior Jiya Gamez capped an outstanding career at Heritage by winning the Bay Valley Athletic League tournament at the end of the regular season, as the Patriots placed four golfers on the first-team all-league list, went undefeated during the regular league season and then shot the low team score at the BVAL tournament.
Gamez led a full contingent of Heritage golfers who dominated not only the regular league season, but also the six-team league tournament. While Gamez captured the individual title, she was joined in the top nine by junior Ashlyn Sunga, freshman Addiena Jenkins, junior Reagan Wheeler and senior Kayla Bayot, meaning that the Patriots had more golfers finish in the top nine than the rest of the league combined.
Heritage prepared for its league season by participating in two elite out-of-area tournaments, at both the San Jose and Davis versions of the Helen Langfeld Memorial, experience which would benefit them during a league season in which they won every dual match by double digit margins.
