In 2008, DBU earned a trip to the NCAA Division I National Tournament for the first time in school history. The Patriots finished a historic season at 37-19 with notable wins over #5 Texas A&M, #12 Rice, and #24 Oral Roberts. The record becomes even more impressive considering that DBU had to play one of the toughest schedules in the country in order to receive an at large bid as an independent team in the NCAA. Selected as the two-seed in the College Station Regional, the Patriots became the first independent team to make an NCAA Regional since the University of Miami in 1992.
Ryan Enos posted the team’s second highest batting average at .360 and led the team in stolen bases with 16.
Ryan Goins hits .357 with 10 home runs and 44 RBI, while also going 3-1 on the mound in eight starts.
