 ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE/TEAM TRAINER
   Luke Horton is in his first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Dallas Baptist University. He works primarily with the Baseball team at DBU.
Horton graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in December 2020. He received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and earned his Master of Science in Athletic Training in May 2023. While at Charlotte, Horton gained sports medicine experience working with the football team at UNC Charlotte and soccer with Charlotte FC. Following graduation, Horton worked with Wake Forest baseball for the 2023
season. Horton worked in 2024 as a seasonal athletic trainer intern with the University of Virginia baseball team.
Horton is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is a certified L-1 Dry Needling Provider through Structure and Function.
Horton resides in Mansfield, Texas, and is a member of Creekwood Church.
Mason Madalinski is in his first year as an Athletic Performance Coach and works with the Patriot baseball program. Before his time at DBU, Coach Madalinski served as an Assistant Human Performance Coach at TCU, working under Zach Dechant with the baseball program. In his one year with the Horned Frogs, he coached multiple pitchers selected in the 2024 MLB Draft. Coach Madalinski also worked as one of the lead Performance Coaches at Ideal Sports Performance in Fort Worth, Texas, where he helped design, implement, and coach athletes of various sports at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels.
Before moving to Texas in the summer of 2023, Coach Madalinski spent two years at The Master’s University in Santa Clarita, CA. While there, he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and was a pitcher on the baseball team.
From 2017-2021, Madalinski attended Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL. During this time, he was a pitcher for the baseball program. While a member of the Tigers, Madalinski earned First Team All-CCAC honors his sophomore season and helped lead the program to a 2019 and 2021 CCAC Tournament Championship, a 2021 regular season championship, and NAIA opening round appearances in 2019 and 2021. After his time at ONU, Madalinski graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science.
Mason is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS).
Mason and his wife, Kayleigh, live in Cedar Hill, Texas, with their son, Micah (1). The Madalinski family attends Midlothian Bible Church.
