 ASSISTANT COACH RYAN GLENNEY
  Ryan Glenney enters his sixth season as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the DBU Men’s Basketball team. During his first five seasons, the Patriots have advanced to the NCAA Tournament four times, won a pair of Heartland Conference regular-season titles and clinched the Heartland Conference Tournament Championship in 2018. DBU has also compiled an impressive 111-43 record
over that five-year span.
Glenney brings over ten years of coaching experience at the college level recruiting, advising, and leading college basketball players at the NCAA and NJCAA Division I level to DBU. Prior to DBU, Glenney was the top assistant coach at North Platte Community College in North Platte, Nebraska, and also had coaching stints at Jacksonville College and Western Texas College.
While at North Platte, Glenney worked for Coach Kevin O’Connor, who has a tremendous history of excellence and success. There he was involved with player development, scouting, academic supervision, and camps.
Before his stint with North Platte, Ryan served at Jacksonville College (NJCAA) in Jacksonville, Texas, where he worked under Coach Jody Bailey. Prior to Jacksonville, Glenney was the recruiting coordinator at Western Texas College working for Coach Larren Silver.
At each stop, Glenney has been in charge of recruiting players, leading individual workouts, scouting opponents, and academic supervision. He has signed or coached players from all over the United States as well as internationally.
Glenney began his coaching career at Iowa State University, where he served as a student assistant under current Creighton University Coach Greg McDermott. After graduating from Iowa State, he joined the Dallas Baptist University staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach. During his previous tenure at DBU, Glenney
assisted with recruiting, academic supervision, and was a part of the 2011 NCCAA National Championship team.
Glenney serves as the recruiting coordinator at Dallas Baptist University, and many other duties including scheduling, assisting with academic monitoring, on the floor coaching responsibilities, and scouting.
Glenney has a B.A. in Community Sport and Recreation from Iowa State University (2009), and a M.A. in Kinesiology from Dallas Baptist University (2011). Ryan and his wife Amanda, herself a DBU grad, have been married for eight years and they have a daughter named Harper and a son named Isaiah.
