WPIAL Runner-Up | PIAA Quarterfinalists
After falling in the WPIAL Championship a season ago, the 2023 North Allegheny girls tennis team was looking to get back to the championship match. The Tigers made it to the final but once again ended up with the silver medal. They bounced back to win in the first round of the state playoffs before bowing out in the state quarterfinals.
North Allegheny came out of the gates on fire to start the season winning their first 12 matches. The Tigers only loss would come to Mt. Lebanon (the team that beat them in the 2022 WPIAL Cham- pionship)in a non-section match. North Allegheny won the section title with an undefeated section record.
The Tigers rolled through Baldwin in the WPIAL First Round winning 5-0. They took care of Pine-Richland, 4-1 in the WPIAL Quarterfinals, got their revenge on Mt. Lebanon in the semifinals winning 3-2. North Allegheny fell to Bethel Park, 5-0, in the WPIAL Championship.
The Tigers handled Hollidaysburg in the first round of state playoffs with a 5-0 sweep before end- ing their season with a 3-0 loss against Council Rock South.
