UNIFIED BOCCE
North Allegheny participated in its first ever Unified bocce season this past winter. The team is composed of 16 players with 8 players on a court at
a time. NA won their first
ever (away) match in double overtime against Avonworth (3-2). While the first ever home match against Pine Richland was not in the Tigers’ favor on
the scoreboard (0-4), the stands were packed, and the support of the NA community filled the stands. The Tigers lost their third match in overtime against Deer Lakes (2-3). The final match ended in Shaler’s favor (1-3). The bocce team had a great inaugural season and is ready to promote inclusion for years to come.
