Boys State Champions
It was another successful 2024 season for the North Allegheny water polo program as the girls got to the state play-in tournament and the boys won their 3rd State Championship since 2012.
On the girls side, the team stayed around .500 all season. Their best stretch came from September 17 to October 8 when they went 4-2 in a 6-game stretch. The most impressive feat for the Lady Tigers came on October 15 when they shut out McDowell 14-0. A very rare feat in Water Polo. In the state play-in tournament, North Allegheny defeated Exeter 9-5 before falling to Springfield 10-3 to end the season.
The boys got off to a great start winning their first 5 matches. After a tough weekend at the Calvin Behm Memorial Tournament, the Tigers bounced back winning 4 of their next 5 match- es. North Allegheny finished the regular season with a 16-6 record and got the #4 seed going into the state playoffs. In the state playoffs, the Tigers defeated #5 North Penn by a score of 10-8, stunned the top seed La Salle 7-4, before taking down Upper Dublin 10-9 in a 4 overtime classic. Caden Currykosky had a championship-winning goal.
