 Easton Waterman
DIRECTOR OF HITTING DEVELOPMENT
Easton Waterman is in his first season with the DBU Baseball team and serves as the Director of Hitting Development for the Patriots. Waterman comes to DBU after a four-year playing career at Point Loma Nazarene University.
From 2019-2022, Waterman started in 86 of
110 games and was a career .285 hitter. In 2022, Waterman was a part of a Point Loma team that set numerous school and conference records including most wins in a single season (52-10). During his time at Point Loma, Waterman earned All- Conference and All-Academic recognition. He was also a key part of a program that hosted both a regional and super-regional and played for a National Championship where he finished with All-Tournament
honors.
After spending three years in a winning and faith-based culture under head coach Justin James at Point Loma, Waterman was able to land his first coaching job for the Macon Bacon, a member of the Coastal Plain League in the summer of 2022 working with collegiate athletes. Now at DBU, Waterman works with the catchers and hitters in hopes of furthering his knowledge alongside some of the greatest coaches in college baseball.
Waterman graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology to further his understanding of the human body and the way it moves. A native of Redding, California, Waterman currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and is a member at Northway Church.
   Evan Sandmann
 DIRECTOR OF HITTING DEVELOPMENT
Evan Sandmann enters his second season on the DBU Baseball coaching staff and serves as the team’s Director of Player Development. In his first year on staff as the Director of Hitting Development in 2022, DBU reached the NCAA postseason for the eighth consecutive year and earned the No. 3 seed at the Austin Regional.
From 2014-2019, Sandmann played in 134 games and had a career batting average of .268. In 2019, Sandmann led the team in triples and finished third on the team in both HR’s and RBI’s. His best year came in 2017 when he took over the starting role in right field and hit .304 during the season. Sandmann was a part of teams that accrued three Missouri Valley Conference titles, advanced to five NCAA regional finals, and hosted a regional while finishing the regular season with the No.1 RPI in the country. Sandmann was also a two- time All-Star during summer ball as he accrued a Home Run Derby Championship
in 2015 and led the California Collegiate League in doubles in 2017.
After spending five years playing in a championship culture under Patriot Head Coach Dan Heefner, Sandmann has been able to develop his understanding of the biomechanical processes, physiology, and skill development needed to produce the top hitters in the country and help players reach their full potential. He works extensively with technology and advanced analytics that DBU utilizes to create some of the most dynamic offenses in college baseball.
Sandmann graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management in 2018, a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing in 2019, and is currently working on a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology to further his understanding of how the human mind and body works.
