TRAVIS STONE– VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH
Travis Stone is in his fourth season as a member of the DBU Baseball coaching staff after spending three years as a relief pitcher for the Patriots. Stone enters his second season as the team’s Volunteer Assistant after having served as the Patriots’ Director of Hitting Development each of the previous two years. In all four seasons on the DBU coaching staff the Patriots have reached the NCAA postseason each year, including a trip to the Columbia Super Region in 2021.
From 2017-2019, Stone made 45 career appearances and posted a 3-3 record with a 3.99 ERA. In 2017, his 29 appearances out of the pen ranked as the fourth most all-time in the program’s Division I era dating back to 2004.
Stone began his collegiate career at Stephen F. Austin in 2015 where he made 19 relief appearances. Following 2015, Stone spent his sophomore season at Weatherford College and led the team with six saves.
After spending four seasons playing for and working alongside Patriot Head Coach Dan Heefner and helping the Patriots advance to the NCAA postseason every year, Stone has been able to develop his understanding of the biomechanical processes, physiology, and skill development needed to produce the top hitters in the country and help players reach their full potential. He has worked extensively with the technology and advanced analytics DBU utilizes to create some of the most dynamic offenses in college baseball.
Stone graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Master of Education degree in Sport Management from DBU. He and his wife, Jaycey, and their daughter, Kazzie, reside in Irving.
