Kodie Kolden
DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
Kodie Kolden is in his first season as DBU Baseball’s Director of Player Development and the team’s Infield Coordinator. Kolden joined the Patriots as a senior in 2023 after spending the previous four seasons at Washington State University.
In his lone year at DBU, Kolden was named a Second
Team All-Conference USA selection after hitting a team- high .353 with six home runs, 35 RBI, 10 doubles, and two triples. He was also second on the team in stolen bases, successfully swiping 21-of-23 bases, a mark that ranks as the eighth-most in a single-season in the program’s Division I era dating back to 2004. Defensively, Kolden was one of the top defensive third basemen in the country, committing just five errors in 108 chances on
the hot corner.
Kolden capped off his collegiate career in the NCAA postseason where he led the Patriots to the finals of the Stillwater Regional. In four games, Kolden hit .470 (8-for-17) with two home runs and three RBI to be named to the Stillwater Regional All-Tournament Team.
Kolden earned his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science from Washington State and is currently pursuing a Masters in Sports Management.
Easton Waterman
DIRECTOR OF PITCHING DEVELOPMENT
Easton Waterman is in his second season with the DBU Baseball team and serves as the Director of Pitching Development for the Patriots. In his first season at DBU, the Patriots won a school record 47 games, clinched the Conference USA regular season title, and advanced to the finals of the Stillwater Regional.
Waterman came to DBU after a four-year playing career at Point Loma Nazarene University. From 2019-2022, Waterman started in 86 of 110 games and was a career .285 hitter. In 2022, Waterman was a part of a Point Loma team that set numerous school and conference records including most wins in a single season (52-10).
During his time at Point Loma, Waterman earned All-Conference and All-Academic recognition. He was also a key part of a program that hosted both a regional and super-regional and played for a National Championship where he finished with All-Tournament honors.
After spending three years in a winning and faith-based culture under head coach Justin James at Point Loma, Waterman was able to land his first coaching job for the Macon Bacon, a member of the Coastal Plain League in the summer of 2022 working with collegiate athletes. Now at DBU, Waterman works with the catchers and hitters in hopes of furthering his knowledge alongside some of the greatest coaches in college baseball.
Waterman graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science degree in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology to further his understanding of the human body and the way it moves. A native of Redding, California, Waterman currently resides in Dallas, Texas, and attends Watermark Church.
Devlin Granberg
DIRECTOR OF HITTING DEVELOPMENT
Devlin Granberg is in his first season as DBU Baseball’s Director of Hitting Development. A consensus All-American for the Patriots in 2018, Granberg was a sixth-round pick of the Boston Red Sox following the 2018 season and spent four years in the Red Sox minor league system.
Regarded as one of the top hitters in DBU Baseball history, Granberg played two seasons with the Patriots from 2017- 2018, helping guide DBU to the NCAA postseason each
year. In both seasons with the Patriots, Granberg won the batting crown in the Missouri Valley Conference, hitting .359 as a junior in 2017 and .443 his senior season. He finished his career with the top batting average in program history after hitting .408 over the course of two years at DBU.
In 2018, Granberg set single-season program records for batting average (.443) and hits (112). His 112 hits were the most in the nation that season, and his .443 average was the second highest in all of college baseball. Granberg went on to lead DBU to the finals of the 2018 Fayetteville Regional where was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Following the 2018 season, Granberg was named the Missouri Valley Conference Joe Carter Player of the Year and received the Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger of the Year Award. He was also named a First Team All-American by five publications and was honored as the CoSIDA Academic All-American Player of the Year.
Following his collegiate career, Granberg spent four seasons of professional baseball in the Red Sox farm system, reaching the Triple-A level in 2022. He was also named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game in 2019.
Granberg graduated from DBU with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. Devlin lives in Irving, Texas, and attends Watermark Community Church.
