TRAINER
In their inaugural season in Conference USA, DBU claimed the league’s regular season title and won a school record 47 games en route to reaching their ninth consecutive NCAA Regional. The Patriots won all 10 of their series versus CUSA opponents and finished with a 25-5 record in conference play. In the postseason, DBU was selected as the No. 2 seed at the Stillwater Regional where they advanced to the regional finals for the ninth time in the last 12 years before falling to Oral Roberts.
The Patriots stormed out of the gates in 2023, winning their first seven games of the season before a loss to No. 10 TCU. On April 1, DBU’s 14-7 win over Louisiana Tech on the road sparked a program record 14-game win streak. In the midst of that 14-game stretch, DBU swept conference foes UAB, Florida Atlantic, and Louisiana Tech, while also claiming mid-week wins over Sam Houston, Baylor, and UT Arlington. In mid-May, the Patriots traveled to San Antonio to face No. 22 UTSA in a three-game series between a pair of teams atop the league standings. DBU would sweep the Roadrunners and clinched the CUSA regular season title with 9-6 win over UTSA in the series finale.

Ethan Mann’s 80 RBI were the 11th-most in the nation and propelled him to All-American and CUSA Newcomer of the Year honors.
Grant Jay was a consensus Freshman All-American and the CUSA Freshman of the Year after hitting
a team-high 21 home runs.
