TRAINER
2021 proved to be one of the most historic seasons in DBU Baseball history as the Patriots clinched both the regular-season and tournament titles in the Missouri Valley Conference, won the Fort Worth Regional, and fell one win shy of reaching the College World Series after falling to Virginia in the Columbia Super Regional. DBU finished with their seventh consecutive 40-win season, becoming the only team in the country to post seven straight seasons of 40 wins or more.
Following their run to their third MVC regular-season title and their fourth MVC Tournament Championship since the Patriots joined The Valley in 2014, DBU entered the Fort Worth Regional as the No. 3 seed and faced a field that included top-seeded TCU, No. 2 seed Oregon State, and No. 4 seed Murray State. DBU knocked Oregon State 6-5 in game one and a rallied for five runs in the seventh to claim an 8-6 win over TCU. After falling to Oregon State the next day, the Patriots
