  2023 STILLWATER REGIONAL
At the CUSA Tournament at Reckling Park in Houston, Texas, DBU won their first three games as the No. 1 seed to advance to the championship. The Patriots’ hopes of sweeping CUSA’s regular season and tournament titles were dashed when DBU fell short in a 5-2 loss to Charlotte.
Following the CUSA Tournament, the Patriots earned the No. 2 seed at the Stillwater Regional in a field that included top-seeded Oklahoma State, No. 3 seed Washington, and the four-seed, Oral Roberts. With DBU’s trip to the postseason, the Patriots joined Florida, LSC, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt as one of only five teams in the nation to advance to the NCAA Regionals each of the last nine years. After dropping a 9-5 decision to Washington in the first game, DBU blasted 12th-ranked Oklahoma State, 18-4. Junior second baseman, Miguel Santos, smashed three home runs and tied a school record with nine RBI in the win over the Cowboys. The following day, junior right-hander, Braxton Bragg, allowed just one run over 7.2 innings and struck out 10 as the Patriots eliminated Washington in a 9-1 victory against the Huskies. In the finals against Oral Roberts, the Patriots short of forcing a winner-take-all game in a 6-5 loss to the Golden Eagles.
At the conclusion of the 2023 season, DBU saw four players garner All-American honors including Kyle Amendt, Grant Jay, Ryan Johnson, and Ethan Mann. The Patriots also took several of CUSA’s top honors as Grant Jay was named the league’s Freshman of the Year, Ethan Mann garnered Newcomer of the Year honors, and Nathan Humphreys was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year. Dan Heefner was also selected as the Keith LeClair CUSA Coach of the Year.
In the 2023 Major League Draft, DBU set a new school record when eight Patriots were selected in MLB’s 20-round draft. Braxton Bragg was the first player from DBU to be drafted when the Baltimore Orioles chose him in the eighth round. In the ninth and 10th rounds respectively, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected Kyle Amendt and Zane Russell. Jace Grady would go in the 11th round to the Atlanta Braves, followed by Bryson Hammer (Colorado Rockies) and Brady Rose (New York Yankees) in the 12th round. Nate Rombach and Alec Baker were each taken in the 18th round with Rombach going to the Washington Nationals and Baker landing with the Diamondbacks.
   Kyle Amendt was named and All-American Miguel Santos hit three home runs and tied a school-record with nine RBI in after leading CUSA in saves (12). DBU’s 18-4 win over No. 12 Oklahoma State in the Stillwater Regional.
