WPIAL Champions | PIAA Semifinalists
After falling to Gateway in the WPIAL Championship a season ago, the North Alleghe- ny Boys Tennis team would get their rematch with the Gators and come out on top in the 2024 season. The Tigers also made it deeper than any team in the last decade getting to the state semifinals.
It was a dominant regular season for North Allegheny as they swept their first 11 match- es. The Tigers dropped one individual match all season and were the top seed going into the WPIAL playoffs.
After dominating Franklin Regional in the WPIAL Quarterfinals, things got a little tight for North Allegheny and even though they hadn’t been battle tested during the regular season, they still came through in tight moments in the postseason defeating Fox Chapel 3-2 in the WPIAL Semifinals and Gateway 3-2 in the WPIAL Championship.
In the state playoffs, North Allegheny made quick work of Landisville Hempfield defeating them 5-0, took down Unionville, 3-1 in the state quarterfinals before falling to Conestoga, 3-0, in the state semifinals.
Individually, freshman Advaita Sircar won the WPIAL Singles Championship and got to the quarterfinals in the state individual championships.
