 PATRIOT BROADCASTING NETWORK
DBU Baseball celebrates its 10th year on the Patriot Broadcasting Network in 2021. Dating back to the 2012 season, the PBN has brought all of the live play-by-play action of DBU Baseball to Patriot fans across the globe.
This year, the PBN will broadcast all 55 regular-season games, including the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and the NCAA postseason. Patriot fans can catch all of the action from the first pitch to the final out online at patriotbroadcastingnetwork.com. The PBN will also provide a live video broadcast of all 35 home games in 2021.
The broadcast team of Reagan Ratcliff and Brendan Smith begin their 10th season together on the air. The duo helped to spearhead the efforts of the Patriot Broadcasting Network in 2012 and since then they have brought all the live play-by-play action of DBU Baseball to Patriot fans.
Ratcliff began his sports broadcasting career in college at Baylor University, where he served as the Sports Director for KWBU in 1997. Following graduation, Ratcliff was named the Director of Broadcasting for the Oakland Athletics Short-Season Class A affiliate in Medford, Oregon. In 2000, Ratcliff returned to Waco, Texas, where he called Baylor Baseball for the next two seasons on the Baylor Radio Network. Ratcliff would transition from broadcasting to coaching at the high school ranks for eight years, before returning to the broadcast booth with Dallas Baptist University in 2012.
Smith graduated from DBU in 2009 and began his career in sports broadcasting at 103.3 FM ESPN Dallas in August of 2009. During his
time at ESPN, Smith hosted several shows and covered the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars. Smith also produced radio broadcasts for the Rangers and Mavericks before becoming the producer for the popular Ben & Skin Show with Ben Rogers and Jeff “Skin” Wade. In May of 2013, Smith made the transition to 105.3 the FAN to continue producing the Ben & Skin Show, before becoming the Director of Christian School Relations at DBU in July of 2015.
Mitch Mason enters his second season as the PBN’s studio host for the Warmup Show. A graduate of Texas A&M in 2019, Mason also serves as the play-by-play voice for DBU Men’s and Women’s Soccer and is the sideline reporter for Patriots’ Basketball.
Coverage of DBU Baseball begins 35 minutes prior to the start of each game with the Warmup Show. Interviews with players and coaches as well as a look back at great moments in DBU baseball history on Patriots’ Flashback lead fans up to first pitch. The Warmup Show also features the Patriot Big League and Farm Report on Sunday’s, with an update on players from DBU and their journeys through professional baseball.
In 2021, the PBN will continue their work with the Horner Communications Department and their video production of DBU Baseball. Along with the efforts of Chris Fore, DBU’s Program Director of Broadcast/Digital Media, the Patriot Broadcasting Network provides fans with one of the most comprehensive video productions in all of college baseball.
