The 2017 campaign can be defined by the Patriots’ response to the program’s first-ever six-game losing streak. From April 14 through the end of the regular-season on May 20, DBU posted an 18-4 record, a mark that ranked second best in the nation during that stretch.
In a season highlighted by several individual performances, DBU landed 10 players on the
All-Missouri Valley Conference Team, including shortstop Camden Duzenack who was awarded MVC Defensive Player of the Year. Senior Austin Listi also earned All-American honors after setting a school-record for career home runs (53)
Following the 2017 season, six Patriots were selected in the Major League Draft. Seth Elledge, who became the school’s all-time saves leader, was the first player from DBU taken off the board when he went in the fourth round to the Seattle Mariners.
Camden Duzenack capped off a stellar four-year career by earning MVC Defensive Player of the Year honors.
